The magic of Christmas will be brought to life in High Legh at our upcoming Christmas Cracker Trail.
High Legh Pre-School Nursery have teamed up with High Legh Primary School to host the festive fundraiser, taking place on Sunday, December 6.
Activities will include a Christmas-themed trail around High Legh to spot the festive clues, while houses along the trail route are being encouraged to help spread some Christmas cheer and take part in a best dressed festive window competition, festooning the front of their houses with lights and decorations.
There’ll also be cakes for sale, a chocolate tombola, raffle and refreshments available, as well as a very special ‘socially distanced’ visit from Father Christmas himself.
Jenni Cookson, Chair of the Pre-School Committee, said: “Christmas may be a little different for families this year, but we’re determined not to let the Coronavirus take away the magic of Christmas for local children in High Legh.
“Sadly, a lot of Christmas events have been cancelled this year because of the pandemic, but the Christmas spirit is alive and well in High Legh and our Christmas Cracker Trail will help spread some Christmas cheer and bring the community together in a safe way, while raising much-needed funds for both our pre-school and the primary school.”
The event comes after the success of our recent Halloween fundraiser trail around the village, which helped raise over £500 for pre-school.
All activities during the event will be run in line with Covid-safe practices, including staggered starts for the trail and the wearing of masks on pre-school grounds.
We’re also still on the lookout for people who live on the trail route, which includes the Pheasant Walk estate and the vicinity of St John’s Church, to take part in the best dressed window competition.
